Shimla, March 2: A body of one of the five Army personnel who were trapped after an avalanche hit Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh on February 20, was on Saturday recovered.
“Body of one of the five missing army personnel who had been trapped in an avalanche in Namgya since last 11 days was recovered today”, news agency ANI quoted Deputy Commissioner of Kinnaur as saying.
However, the search operation is underway to trace other trapped troopers.
The avalanche was triggered by the sliding of a glacier, burying six Jammu and Kashmir Rifles troopers.
The body of one trooper was found soon after, but five troopers went missing.
Five Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) troopers were also injured in the calamity.
