Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will address the gathering of people in a rally against demonetization on Wednesday.
Varanasi is the constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kejriwal wishes to take a jibe on PM over his decision to demonetize old currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) asserted that this rally will bring out the real reasons behind the demonetization move by the government. The rally will be held at Benia Bagh and the AAP activists were making the ground ready for Kejriwal’s rally and the police personnel were tight on the security arrangments too.
Earlier during Lok Sabha elections, Kejriwal spoke against Modi in Varanasi but lost the battle as Modi won. Now, AAP is not contesting the Uttar Pradesh polls next year but plans to hold six rallies with the motive to thrash BJP and take a jibe on Narendra Modi government over demonetization move.
Earlier in Meerut, Kejriwal performed his monologue against the note ban on December 1. AAP party chief plans to address similar rallies in the state capital Lucknow on December 14, in MP’s Bhopal on December 20, Jharkhand’s Ranchi on December 22 and in Rajasthan Jaipur on December 23.
