Kejriwal has nexus with hawala traders, alleges Mishra; AAP Denies

New Delhi, May 19 : The Aam Aadmi Party has refuted the allegations made by  Sacked minister Kapil Mishra  during his press conference on Friday.

Denying his allegations, AAP spokesperson Sanjay Singh told media  that the party has followed all norms and legal procedure in accepting political donations. “All transactions were carried out through banking channels and no cash or back-door transactions were involved,” he said.

He accused the BJP of using the Central Bureau of Investigation, Income Tax department, Enforcement Directorate (ED) and police against AAP leaders. “Delhi Police has crossed all limits in their investigations against us; they have not event left Somnath Bharti’s dog,” the AAP leader said.

Singh claimed that no AAP leader has committed any kind of mistake. “Had any of our leaders been involved in any wrongdoings, he would not have been let off by police,” Singh said.

He said the former Chief Election Commissioner had praised the party for being the most transparent in accepting political donations.

He alleged that the Congress and BJP did not follow transparency while accepting donations.

Earlier, while making his “revelation”, Kapil Mishra waved the letterheads of four companies — Skyline Metal and Alloys Pvt Ltd, Goldmine Buildcon Pvt Ltd, Infoline Software Solution Ltd and Sunvision company — from which AAP received Rs 2 crore donation in 2014, and claimed the letterheads are fake.

Mishra “challenged” the AAP national convenor to tell the Income Tax department that his party received donation of Rs 2 crore from Mukesh Kumar.

Mishra also raised questions regarding the identity of Mukesh Kumar, and asked, “Why is Mukesh Kumar being made a scapegoat by Kejriwal? Who is Kejriwal trying to save?”

Mishra alleged that Mukesh Kumar became CEO of one of the companies days before the Delhi civic polls, though the donations were made in 2014.

Mishra said, “Mukesh Kumar was a VAT defaulter with the Delhi government, and his company was sent notices, yet this company was given tenders by the government.”

He claimed Kejriwal and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia were aware of the “corruption activities”.

He questioned Kejriwal’s silence in the matter.

Mishra revealed the name of one more person Hem Prakash Sharma, whose signatures were on two letter heads and said that he was the Additional Director of the companies alongwith Mukesh Kumar — Skyline Metal and Alloys Pvt Ltd and Goldmine Buildcon Pvt Ltd.

The sacked minister said that Hem Prakash Sharma was also Director in a company alongwith lawyer Rohit Tandon, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in December last year for converting black money into white.

“This is the biggest proof of hawala nexus against Kejriwal,” Mishra said.

“The man who donated Rs 2 crore to AAP is wanted by CBI, ED and the IT officials,” Mishra said.

“But he meets Kejriwal,” Mishra added.

“This is the reason why Kejriwal was shouting so much after the government’s demonetisation move and was coming out on the streets against it. If Kejriwal has any shame left he must step down,” Mishra demanded, adding that he has submitted the balancesheet of AAP signed by Kejriwal to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT).

He said he has also given the details of Rohit Tandon to the CBDT.

He termed Kejriwal a “mafia” and said he fears for his life as he can be attacked.

Ease process of certification for maximum testing kits: Congress

He also slammed the government over the handling of the migrant labourers in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly and described it as “unfortunate and inhuman”.

Manish Tewari

New Delhi, March 31 : Congress on Tuesday said that the India was inching closer to reach to stage three of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and asked the government to ease the process of certification to get maximum number of testing kits without compromising quality.

Addressing media through video conferencing, Congress MP and spokesperson Manish Tewari said, “We are progressing towards phase three and the only way to deal better with it is to conduct as many tests as possible.”

He said, if we take the India’s ratio for coronavirus testing, it is the lowest in the world.

He said, “In India only 32 people are being tested out of 10 lakh people, while in UK it is 921 per 10 lakh people and in US it is 2,600 per 10 lakh people.”

Tewari said that World Health Organisation (WHO) in its advisory has also issued an advisory and they are also emphasising on the need for conducting more tests. “The only antidote to COVID-19 spreading is more testing,” he said.

Pointing out that only four companies have been allowed to manufacture the testing kits, Tewari said, “I want to demand from the government that only four companies have got the permission to manufacture testing kits while 17 companies applied for testing kits but were asked to bring the FDA or EU approval.

“It is not easy to get FDA or EU approval in the current scenario and hence we request the government to come up with a plan to get maximum number of testing kits without compromising quality and make the same available across India,” the Congress leader said.

He also cited the scarcity of the testing kits in India and said that the the state governments do not have much of the testing kits and they have kept the testing kits for emergency time. “And this is a wise strategy to deal with the situation in a targeted way,” he said.

He also slammed the government over the handling of the migrant labourers in Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly and described it as “unfortunate and inhuman”.

“What happened in Bareilly yesterday, the way in which they were sprayed with the chemical is a inhuman act and this once again shows that the difference between India and Bharat,” Tewari said.

He said the incident differentiates India which watches Netflix and Bharat where a father walks with his wife and carries his daughter and travel hundred of miles to return home.

“The government should ensure the safe return of the people who are on streets. I had also written to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday on how we can take steps to ensure the safe return of these people,” he said.

The Congress also demanded Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to ensure that the RBI circular regarding EMIs (being deferred for three months) should be issued widely and that interest subvention arrangement should be made for the interest on the deferred EMI payments.
