Jammu, Aug 6: A Kashmiri youth was arrested in possession of eight grenades from Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu last night.
IGP Jammu Zone, Dr SD Singh Jamwal told media, that the arrested person was carrying the cache of grenades to Delhi to hand them over to someone and they could have been used to disrupt 15th August celebrations in the national capital.

The youth, Arfan Wani is a resident of Awantipora in Pulwama district.
The Delhi Police Special Cell will interrogate Kashmiri youth on Monday.
According to media reports, the police also seized Rs 60,000 cash from his possession.
Wani reportedly boarded the Delhi-bound bus from Jammu’s General Bus Stand area around 11 pm and when the vehicle arrived at Gandhi Nagar, security agencies stopped it and held him.
In the wake of the Independence Day celebrations, police and security agencies have been put on high alert.
