Kashmir violence: Mobile internet services again suspended in Jammu

The internet services have been snapped once again in Jammu owing to unrest in some districts in Jammu as per the official notification.

The curfew on the internet has not been taken well by the different sections of the society, especially the business community and students across Jammu.

“Mobile Internet services have been suspended for a few days in Jammu region as a precautionary measure,” Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pawan Kotwal told PTI.

Jammu divisional commissioner Dr Pawan Kotwal, however, said only GPRS operated WhatsApp was blocked as a precautionary measure to keep a check on rumour mongers.

The services were earlier suspended on July 9 following the killing of Hizbul militant Burhan Wani and restored on July 25.

Meanwhile, curfew will remain in force in the districts of Srinagar, Anantnag, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Kupwara and few other places in Kashmir Valley.

Kashmir has been reeling under violence, curfew and separatists called protest shutdown for the last 28 days.
