New Delhi, Feb 17: Aircel Maxis case and INX media case: Congress leader Karti Chidambaram has sought trial court’s permission to go to London and France for 2 weeks.

Karti has moved an application seeking trial court permission to travel to go to London and France for 2 weeks to attend several tennis matches.

The ED is probing the Aircel-Maxis deal under the PMLA after taking cognisance of a 2011 Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) complaint in the case.

The CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are investigating how Karti Chidambaram got clearance from the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) for the deal in 2006 when his father was the Union Finance Minister.

The ED on October 25, 2018, had filed a chargesheet naming him and others in the matter.

Last July, the CBI had filed another chargesheet against 18 persons.
