BENGALURU, 16 Nov: Sparking a fresh controversy, the Karnataka education minister Tanveer Sait was reportedly surfing revealing pictures of Melania, a former model and the third wife of US President-elect Donald Trump, on his mobile phone at a Tipu Jayanti event in Raichur on November 10.

Oppositions parties led by BJP launched a scathing attack to the minister after he was caught watching sleazy images on his cellphone.

While rebutting all the allegation, the minister said he was following reports of Tipu Jayanti in Mysuru. But TV footage that showed Sait glued to the mobile screen suggested otherwise.

Senior cops who sourced the video footage of Sait at the event stated that: “The photographs the minister was allegedly watching were of Melania Trump. Her pictures which were captured around 15 years ago, gained new traction in the run-up to the US presidential election and after Trump’s shock victory. Among the many messages sent to the minister’s WhatsApp account, Melania photographs, too, popped up on the screen.”

The controversial pictures were taken for a magazine in 1999 when she was Melania Knauss, a model who created ripples in the fashion and modelling world. Melania married Trump in 2005.

However, the minister in his defence said he did no wrong, and recently filed a complaint with the cyber crime cell against the cameraman and reporters of the channel for filming him.
