Bengaluru, July 30: Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Monday said that the State Government has waived off agricultural loans to the tune of Rs 49000 crore.
Besides this, Kumaraswamy directed all the District Deputy Commissioners (DDCs) and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) to implement a loan waiver scheme transparently.
Addressing the meeting he stated “a government order on guidelines will be issued soon”.
Earlier this month, presenting the first budget of his Congress-JD(S) government in the Vidhana Soudha, the Karnataka Chief Minister had announced farm loan wavier amounting to Rs 34,000 crore.
He also waived off all defaulted crop loans of farmers up to 31 Dec 2017 in the first stage and decided to credit the repaid loan amount or Rs 25000 whichever is less.
