New Delhi, May 19: Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Saturday took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that “the PM always says ‘Na khaunga, na khane dunga’ (would not take bribes, won’t allow it either), he should also say ‘na kharidunga na khardine dunga’.
Addressing a press conference, Sibal “The methods the BJP is adopting to prove its majority are known to the world”.
The remark comes amid allegations that BJP is “trying to poach MLAs” to prove majority in Karnataka Assembly during crucial floor test.
The Congress leader further stated ” We asked the Apex Court to change the pro tem speaker but the top court said that they will have to give a notice first and for that the floor test in Karnataka had to be postponed. Hence, it was decided that to live telecast the trust vote in the Karnataka Assembly because we did not want the process to be delayed.
And we are happy that the proceedings will be transparent,” Sibal said, adding ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’ (who wins shall be the king).
Meanwhile, Senior Congress leader AM Singhvi stated the victory was ours as we got the time for the floor test reduced from 15 days to 24 hours.
Earlier in a day, the Supreme Court ordered live telecast of the Assembly proceedings.
