Karnataka Council opposes Cauvery water to TN


Karnataka Vidhan Parishad (or Legislative Council) on Friday with one mind took a decision to not release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.

The water is necessary for the filling the need of the people as the water is needed to fulfil drinking purposes.

The house specially kept a session for the same and to discuss the impact of the Supreme Court’s 20th September verdict which ordered Karnataka to release 6,000 cusecs of water daily till 27th September.

The council passed a resolution that the water of the river which is stored in dams would be used for drinking purposes in the state and that the water cannot be released to Tamil Nadu.
