Karanataka Floods: Delegation led by Kumaraswamy meets PM Modi

New Delhi, Sep 10: A delegation led by Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Monday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek relief funds for the flood-affected districts of the state including Kodagu.

Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara and others attended the meeting.

The state’s south interior and coastal areas including Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, and Udupi districts, witnessed flash floods and landslides due to heavy rains and strong winds, leaving behind a trail of destruction and loss of life and property.

Last month, Kumaraswamy wrote to the Prime Minister seeking Rs 2,000 crore interim relief and rehabilitation of the flood survivors and asked the PM Modi to send a central team to assess the damage.
