Following the violence at JNU yesterday, in which 40 students including JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh sustained injuries when a group of masked mob entered JNU campus and attacked them, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Kapil Sibal termed it as a “clear conspiracy”. He also said that several questions on yesterday’s violence remain unanswered.
Reacting to the incident, Kapil Sibal said, “ How were masked people allowed to enter the campus? What did the Vice Chancellor do? Why was police standing outside the campus? What was the Home Minister doing? All these questions remain unanswered. This is a clear conspiracy.”
On Sunday evening, more than 40 students, including JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh, were injured and taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre after a masked mob entered JNU and attacked them and protestors with sticks and rods.
The JNU administration and political leaders, cutting across political lines, have condemned the attack on students and urged the police to take action against the perpetrators.
