Kapil Sibal slams Yogi Adityanath, questions PM Modi’s silence on fake encounters

New Delhi, Aug 7 : Former law minister Kapil Sibal questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence over fake encounters in Uttar Pradesh and held chief Minister Yogi Adityanath responsible for compelling police to stage fake killings.

On the special investigation  by India Today TV, Kapil Sibal said, ” Why Prime Minister Narendra Modi is silent, Amit Shah and Yogi Adityanath are not uttering a word on fake encounters ,” Kapil Sibal said.

Admitting that Police has to follow the orders of the political establishment, Sibal said, “There is rot in political system not in a police system as cops cannot carry out encounter without a go ahead from the political establishment, What surprises me even more that Yogi Adityanath, Amit Shah and PM Modi need to explain that why fake encounters are happening in Uttar Pradesh, ” Sibal said.

Congress leader Kapil Sibal slammed Yogi Adityanath government and said, ” Uttar Pradesh cops are staging fake encounters after nod from political establishment.”

The Congress leader said “Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath publicly declared in the state Legislative Council that police encounters in the state would not stop.These people are criminals .”

Director General of Police (DGP) OP Singh has suspended three policemen for making irresponsible statements, after India Today TV exposed how some policemen in Uttar Pradesh are resorting to staged shootouts in exchange of bribes, publicity and promotions.

More than 60 people have been killed in around 1,500 encounters since the Yogi Adityanath government came to power in UP.
