Kapil Sibal seeks PM Modi’s response on two types of Rs 500 notes

New Delhi, Aug 8, 2017: Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on central government by alleging that Reserve Bank of India (RBI) was printing two types of Rs 500 currency notes.

Addressing a press conference, Sibal asked “RBI prints two types of currency notes. These are of different size and different design… How is it possible?”

Quicker the government or Prime Minister Narendra Modi should give the answer to people of this country that how it has happened?, he added.

Earlier today in Rajya Sabha, the opposition’s allegation of two different 500 rupee notes issues by the government provoked a huge row in Parliament.

Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad alleged that the demonetisation was the “biggest scam of this century”.

Other opposition leaders including Trinamool’s Derek O’Brien, JD-U’s Sharad Yadav and Samajwadi Party’s Naresh Agrawal also sided with the Congress.
