New Delhi, April 19: Expressing satisfaction over the Supreme Court’s decision to restore conspiracy charges against BJP top leaders, Congress MP Kapil Sibal said he is happy that majesty of law is upheld and hopes PM Modi remembers his “pronouncements” on morality.

The senior congress leader said it is a substantial step forward in the cause of justice. Today’s verdict, means the majesty of law has been upheld, I am happy about that.

After the SC decision, the Congress has demanded the resignation of Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh on the morality grounds. While the Bharti refuted the demand outrageously. Opposition also said Advani is out of the race for next president of India.

On the matter, Sibal saidAs far as other issues concerned, our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is always very committed to the cause of morality. Those are his public pronouncements. Occasionally, he forgets morality when it comes to his ministers. Let us hope he doesnt forget (it) this time.”

Citing the fact that it took 25 years to bring the cause of justice to take a substantial step forward, Sibal said, “At least now it has been demonstrated that the majesty of the law is intact and that justice will be granted.”

Recalling Bollywood film Bees saal baad (20 years later), Congress leader said today’s development was like a new film– 25 saal baad, that which would finish in the next two years.

The apex court on Wednesday had said that proceedings should be completed in two years. Reacting to CBI plea, SC restored criminal conspiracy charges against Advani, Joshi and Bharti and 10 other BJP leaders in the 1992 demolition case.

The court has clubbed all the trials in the matter pending against the leaders and karsevaks and ordered a day-to-day hearing.

New US Visa Rules, huge setback for India: Rahul

New Delhi, April 26: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday termed the proposed US visa rules as a “huge setback” for India.

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Congress leader said “some things a hug can buy”, but for visas “you’re on your own”.

Gandhi tweeted, “New US Visa Rules, a huge setback for India…as Foreign Policy by Modi, Foreword by Trump”

His remarks come amid Donald Trump’s government plan to propose to end giving work permits to the spouses of H1-B visa holders to work in America, a decision that could have a devastating impact on scores of Indians.

Besides this, global entrepreneurs will not be able to apply for parole to nurture their startups for a certain period.

According to the reports, both of these Obama-era policies will be revoked in a bid to clinch the objectives of ‘Buy American, Hire Amercian’.

PILs filed in Judge Loya case were politically motivated: Sibal

Published

New Delhi, April 26: Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal on Thursday said the PILs filed in Judge Loya case were politically-motivated.

Addressing a press conference, the former Union Minister stated ” After the investigation of Judge Loya case, there were several PILs lodged. But by the recent SC judgement, PILs have been considered to be politically-motivated”.

Sibal claimed that a PIL was filed in Nagpur bench by Suraj Lolage, who is an RSS ideologue, on 27 November 2017. Lolage had contested for a BJP ticket in Municipal elections.

“After the press conference in AICC on 30 Jan 2018, a phone conversation between Suraj Lolage and Satish Uke’s brother revealed that Lolage’s petition intended to elevate Judge Loya case to the apex court, where independent probe was rejected”, he added.

The Congress leader further stated that “What does this show? Clearly, Bhaiyyaji Joshi and the RSS were very keen that this matter be heard in the Supreme Court as quickly as possible because they are the ones who initiated the PIL.

Sibal cited two possibilities either RSS’s Bhaiyyaji Joshi wanted that an enquiry into Judge Loya’s death be conducted or wanted an outcome which ensures that the matter is closed without an enquiry.
