Kannada group to hoist a new Karnataka flag in Gulbarga for separate state

November 1 :  Demanding a separate state of North Karnataka , a social-cultural organisation ‘Kalyana Karnataka’ from Hyderabad-Karnataka region is set to hoist a new Karnataka flag on the day of state formation day (Karnataka Rajotsav Day).

“We will hoist a new Karnataka flag tomorrow on Karnataka Rajotsav Day. We are demanding a separate state of North Karnataka comprising of 6 districts as there has been no development in this part of the state,” Vinod Kumar, Member, Kalyana Karnataka said.

Hyderabad-Karnataka is the name given to north-east Karnataka,  the Kannada-speaking part of the Hyderabad State was ruled by the Nizams of Hyderabad until 1948. After merging with the Indian union, the region was part of Hyderabad State until 1956.

The Hyderabad-Karnataka/Northeast Karnataka region comprises Bidar, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal and Gulbarga of Hyderabad state and, Bellary of Madras that are in the present state of Karnataka.

MCC NEET Round 2 Counselling result to be released; Check details

New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee would be announcing the NEET round 2 counselling result 2020 for seats under the 15% all India quota (AIQ) today. MBBS and BDS candidates would be able to check their result on the MCC official website at mcc.nic.in.

In order to check NEET counselling result and to download allotment results, candidates would have to use their roll number and date of birth as login credentials. Candidates selected in the second round would be required to report for admission at institutions between November 28 and December 8, 2020.

Mop-up round counselling results will be declared on December 17 and candidates would be able to take admission from December 18 to December 26, 2020.

How To Download NEET Allotment Letter

  • Go to the official website, mcc.nic.in
  • Then move to the UG Counselling section
  • Under the ‘Online Services’ section, click on Allotment letter
  • A login window will open
  • Select round, enter roll number, date of birth and security pin
  • Submit and download the allotment letter.

At the same time, The AYUSH Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) yesterday began the registration for the first round of AYUSH counselling 2020. AACCC will hold AYUSH counselling for seats under the all India quota in three rounds.

Result of the first round is all set to be declared on December 4.

MiG-29K crashes in Arabian Sea, 1 pilot missing

Mumbai, Nov 27: A MiG-29K trainer aircraft operating from the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya in the Arabian Sea, ditched on Monday evening, officials said here on Friday.

One of the two pilots on board has been rescued while the other pilot is still missing.

A search operation by air and surface units is in progress to find the second pilot.

The government has ordered an inquiry into the incident which happened around 5 p.m. on Thursday and further details are awaited.

New Delhi: The Phase-III human trials of indigenous Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin began at All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in New Delhi on Thursday.

M V Padma Srivastava, the chief of Neurosciences Centre and three other volunteers received the first dose of Covaxin.

Around 15,000 volunteers at AIIMS will be given the shot as part of the clinical trials.

Bharat Biotech announced the commencement of Phase-III trials of Covaxin on November 16. The Phase-III trials will involve 26,000 volunteers across India, conducted in partnership with ICMR.

It is the largest clinical trial conducted for a COVID-19 vaccine in India. This is India’s first Phase-III efficacy study for a COVID-19 vaccine, and the largest phase III efficacy trial ever conducted in India.

Trial volunteers will receive two intramuscular injections approximately 28 days apart. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive Covaxin or placebo. The trial is double blinded, such that the investigators, the participants and the company will not be aware of who is assigned to which group.

Covaxin has been evaluated in 1,000 subjects in Phase-I and Phase-II clinical trials, with promising safety and immunogencity data. Volunteers who wish to participate in this trial should be adults over 18 years of age.

Covaxin, India’s indigenous COVID-19 vaccine by Bharat Biotech is developed in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) – National Institute of Virology (NIV).

This indigenous, inactivated vaccine is developed and manufactured in Bharat Biotech’s BSL-3 (Bio-Safety Level 3) bio containment facility. Covaxin is a highly purified and inactivated vaccine, manufactured in a vero cell manufacturing platform with an excellent safety track record of more than 300 million doses supplied.

This multicenter phase-III study is conducted at the following sites across India. Participating Volunteers who undergo vaccination in the Phase-III trials, will be monitored to detect occurrence of COVID-19 disease.
