Patna, April 9: Former JNU students’ union leader Kanhaiya Kumar on Tuesday filed nomination as Communist Party of India (CPI) candidate from Begusarai Lok Sabha constituency.
A joint Left candidate, Kumar will contest against Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Giriraj Singh in Begusarai.
Earlier, the CPI leader told media that his fight will be against Giriraj Singh, not the Rashtriya Janta Dal.
The RJD has fielded Tanweer Hasan.
Bihar’s 40 Lok Sabha constituencies will have elections in seven phases.
Polling in Begusarai is slated to be held in the fourth phase of polls on April 29.
