Chennai, Nov 19 : Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, the two Tamil movie megastars with political ambitions, said here on Tuesday they could join hands if needed.

While Kamal Haasan has floated a party called the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), Rajinikanth has announced his intentions to launch a political party and contest all the 234 Assembly seats in the state as and when the polls are announced.

Speaking to reporters at the airport Kamal Haasan said, he and Rajinikanth were friends for a long time and if needed they would join hands for the welfare of Tamil Nadu.

Speaking to reporters later, Rajinikanth echoed Kamal Haasan.

Kareena gets ready at Bengaluru airport for cousin’s roka

Due to busy work schedule, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan had to get ready for her cousin Armaan Jain’s roka ceremony (a pre-wedding ritual) at the Bengaluru airport.

A video of her getting her make-up done at the airport has gone viral.

She is seen dressed in a red ethnic suit. “My new make-up room, the Bengaluru airport,” Kareena said in the video while getting her hair and make-up done by her team.

Kareena was in Bengaluru for a fashion store launch.

Armaan’s roka ceremony was held on Saturday night in Mumbai. The function was attended by celebrities like Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Kiara Advani and Tara Sutaria.

Kareena was accompanied by her husband Saif Ali Khan, who complemented her in a white kurta pyjama.

Armaan is the grandson of late Raj Kapoor and son of Rima Jain. He proposed to his longtime girlfriend Anissa Malhotra earlier this year in July.

It’s a wrap for Ayushmann’s ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’

Mumbai: Actor Ayushmann Khurrana and the team of “Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan” has completed the upcoming film’s shooting.

Ayushmann on Saturday took to Instagram Story and shared a photograph of a cake on which “‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’ film wrap” was written.

The film is the second instalment of the hit film “Shubh Mangal Saavdhan” and is scheduled to release on February 21, 2020.

Directed by Hitesh Kewalya, the upcoming movie, which was mainly shot in Varanasi, revolves around the issue of homosexuality. It also stars Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao, who earlier shared screen space with Ayushmann in the runaway hit “Badhaai Ho”.

Actress Gita Siddharth no more

Mumbai: Actress Gita Siddharth Kak breathed her last in the evening of December 14 in Mumbai.

The actress is best known for her role in M.S. Sathyu’s 1973 classic “Garm Hava”. While Sathyu’s effort won a National Award as Best Feature Film on National Integration, she received a souvenir at the ceremony for her role of Amina in the film.

Gita made her debut in Gulzar’s 1972 film, “Parichay”, starring Jeetendra and Jaya Bhaduri. She was a familiar face on the Bollywood screen of the seventies and eighties, featuring in films such as “Sholay”, “Trishul”, “Disco Dancer”, “Ram Teri Ganga Maili”, “Nooriea, “Desh Premee”, “Dance Dance”, “Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki”, “Shaukeen”, “Arth”, aceMandi”, “Ek Chadar Maili Si”, “Gaman” and “Doosra Aadmi”.

She was married to television host-producer and documentary filmmaker Siddharth Kak, who is known for his popular TV culture magazine, “Surabhi”, which aired on Doordarshan from 1990 to 2001. Gita was an art director on the show.

Outside her life as an actor, Gita was also known for her social work.
