Amethi, April 10: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday hailed the Supreme Court ruling on Rafale review petition.

“Supreme Court has accepted that there is some form of corruption in Rafale deal and that chowkidaar ne chori karwayi hai”, Gandhi told media in Amethi.

“If the PM debates the issue with me, he will not be able to see eye-to-eye with the people of the country”.

“I thank the Supreme Court. Supreme Court has done justice today,” he added.

In an unanimous judgment, the apex court dismissed the centre’s preliminary objections seeking review of earlier judgment giving clean chit to the Union Government in Rafale deal.

As a result the Rafale review petitions will now be heard on merits. The court will look into the documents published.

The court allowed admissibility of three documents in Rafale deal as evidence in re-examining the review petitions filed against the SC’s December 14 judgement refusing to order probe in procuring 36 Rafale fighter jets from France.

The documents that were annexed by the former Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha, journalist Arun Shourie and lawyer Prashant Bhushan in their plea.
