New Delhi, Sep 22: Retired Judge K Ravinder Reddy, who pronounced the Mecca Masjid blast case verdict, expressed his desire to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The Indian Express reported quoting Telangana BJP chief Dr K Laxman, when party national president Amit Shah visited Hyderabad on September 1, the former judge held a meeting with him.
“When he met Amit Shah, he expressed his keenness to work for a nationalist and patriotic party like the BJP. He said the party can utilise his services as it pleases,” the party leader was quoted as saying.
Reddy who was Judge of NIA Court, resigned on April 16 this year, after acquitting Hindutva preacher Swami Aseemanand and four others in the case.
A powerful explosion had rocked the 17th-century mosque located near Charminar on May 18, 2007, in which at least nine people lost thier lives and more than 50 were injured.
