Journalist shot dead by unidentified assailants in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh


Kanpur: A journalist, Naveen, was shot dead by unidentified bike-borne persons in Kanpur’s Bilhaur in Uttar Pradesh. 

Naveen was rushed to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries on the way.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed DGP to follow up the investigation of killing of journalist Naveen Srivastava who was shot at by 3-4 assailants in Kanpur.

This is the second journalist who has been killed in the past month. Sudip Datta Bhaumick, the reporter of a Bengali daily ‘Syandan Patrika’, was shot dead on November 22. The commandant of the 2nd battalion of the counter-insurgency paramilitary force and a TSR constable were arrested in this connection.
