Panchkula, Jan 11: A special CBI court is scheduled to pronounce the verdict on Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in the journalist murder case.

Heavy security arrangements have been made across Haryana especially in Panchkula, Sirsa (headquarter of Dera) and Rohtak districts.

Speaking to media ahead of the judgement, Panchkula DCP Kamaldeep Goel said “there is a heavy deployment of police force. Around 500 personnel are deployed around the premises of the court. Heavy barricading has been put in place”.

Dera Sacha Sauda chief will appear through video conferencing for the hearing in journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati’s murder case.

Presently, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is serving a 20-year jail term in Rohtak’s Sunaria jail for raping two of his women disciples.

Chhatrapati was shot at in October 2002 after his newspaper, ‘Poora Sach’, published an anonymous letter regarding how women followers were being sexually exploited by the 51-year-old sect head at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa.
