Journalist murder case verdict: Dera chief Ram Rahim to appear via video conference on January 11

Chandigarh, Jan 8 : Considering the law and order situation,Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh will appear through video conferencing on January 11, when special CBI judge Jagdeep Singh will pronounce verdict in journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati murder case.

Pankaj Garg,Dist Attorney said, “Considering law and order situation,CBI Special Court Panchkula has allowed to produce Ram Rahim through video conferencing on 11 Jan.”

Ram Rahim is currently lodged at the Sunaria jail in Haryana’s Rohtak district, Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Ram Rahim Singh is awaiting a verdict in connection with the murder of Sirsa-based journalist for openly criticising Dera chief in his newspaper titled ‘Poora Sach.’

Haryana Police in its application had cited the violence that was witnessed in Panchkula after the rape conviction of the sect’s head in 2017 in which 43 people were killed.

Rohtak’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tahir Hussain said: “We have heightened the security of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh ahead of January 11 verdict in a murder case against him.
