J&K: Terrorists abduct soldier in Pulwama


Srinagar, June 14: Terrorists abducted a soldier from Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday. 

The army jawan has been identified as Aurangzeb of the 44 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), was travelling to Rajouri district when the militants stopped his vehicle in Kalampora area and kidnapped him.

He is a resident of Poonch. The probe into the matter is underway.

The abduction comes on a day when Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is discussing the extension or calling off of the Ramadan ceasefire that is set to end on Friday.

Last year in May,  a young, unarmed army officer was kidnapped by militants while he was attending a family wedding. His bullet-ridden body was found the next day.

Ummer Fayaz, 22, was a Lieutenant of the Rajputana Rifles.
