J&K Police constitutes Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe Amarnath Terror Attack

Srinagar, July 14 : Jammu and Kashmir police today constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe Amarnath Terror Attack which took place on  Monday night.

DIG of South Kashmir, SP Pani is going head to the SIT. The investigative team also includes SSP of  Anantnag, Altaf Ahmad Khan.

“We have constituted the six-member SIT headed by South Kashmir Deputy Inspector General of Police S.P. Pani for speedy investigation in this important case,” Inspector General of Police Kashmir Munir Ahmad Khan said.

Within a span of five minutes, militants attacked twice in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, in which seven killed and 18 devotees injured who were headed to Jammu after visiting the Amarnath cave shrine.

However, the casualties could have been much higher, but thanks to the bus driver Sheikh Salim Gafoor Bhai who bravely drove away from the scene and saved lives of over 50 pilgrims.
