Jammu, March 16: The heavy firing took place between Indian and Pakistani troops on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Mankote sector of Poonch district on Saturday.

“At around 1.30 p.m. today, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation by shelling mortars and firing of small arms along the LoC in the Mankote sector,” Defence Ministry spokesman Lt. Col Devender Anand said.

“Our positions effectively retaliated. The firing exchanges were continuing,” he added.
