Srinagar, Feb 15: Infiltration attempt has been foiled by the Army in Mendhar sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Thursday.
Army troops noticed suspicious movements in Mendhar sector of the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district early in the day.
“The troops fired and the intruding terrorists were forced to withdraw back into the Pakistani side. A search operation is on in the area,” an official said.

The Pakistani Army on Wednesday violated the 2003 ceasefire in Nowshera sector of LoC in Rajouri district, according to news agency IANS.
At around 7 p.m., the Pakistan Army used small arms, automatics and mortars, forcing the Indian side to retaliate “effectively and strongly”, the official added.
