J&K : Indian soldier killed in Pakistani firing

Srinagar, July 18: An Indian soldier lost his life on Tuesday in firing by Pakistani troops from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir’s Kupwara district, official sources said.

Rifleman Vimal Finjani, who belonged to Gorkha Rifles was killed when the Pakistan Army violated the 2003 ceasefire in Naugam sector of the LoC.

“The soldier was killed in sniper firing,” a Defence Ministry source told IANS.

From last two days, this is the second incident of a soldier’s death in cross-border firing.
