J&K: India, Pakistan trade heavy fire in Poonch

Jammu, Dec 7 :The Indian and Pakistani troops traded heavy fire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Thursday after Pakistan violated ceasefire, police said.

The Pakistan Army used mortars, automatics and small arms to attack Indian positions on the LoC in Malti and Degwar regions, news agency IANS quoted police was saying.
“Unprovoked Pakistan shelling and firing started at 2.45 p.m. on Thursday. Indian army retaliated strongly and effectively,” a police officer asserted.

No report of any casualty or damage has been reported in the firing.
