Clashes break out after Eid prayers in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Aug 22: The celebrations of Bakrid was marred by violence in Jammu and Kashmir, as clashes broke out between security forces and protesters in several parts of the valley on Wednesday. 

While agitators pelted stones on a police vehicle and attack it with sticks in Anantnag.

According to the police, youth sustained a pellet injury in his right eye and was being treated at the nearby hospital.

While some of the protestors were seen waving flags of Pakistan and dreaded terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Srinagar.

After Eid prayers, the demonstrators raised slogans and clashed with police personnel on duty in Eidgah area.

To control the situation, the security forces used tear smoke shells.

Similar protests were also reported from Sopore and Kupwara towns.

Earlier in a day, a policeman was shot dead by militants outside an Eidgah in Zazripora village of Kulgam.
