Jammu, May 22: Ceasefire violation by the Pakistani troops claimed a life of an eight-month-old infant in Jammu and Kashmir’s Keri Battal area of Akhnoor.
The incident took place when the eight-month-old was sleeping with his family outside their home.
“It might be an incident of stray bullet or snipping from the enemy side”, said Local police.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan violated ceasefire and resorted to heavy shelling across LoC.
In the wake of continuous firing, the residents of the Arnia sector migrated to safer places on Monday.
Prior to this, on May 18, Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in RS Pura and Arnia sectors of Jammu and Kashmir claiming five lives including one Border Security Force (BSF) jawan and four civilians.
