J&K: 2 Jaish terrorists killed in Pulwama


Srinagar, Feb 1: Two Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in a Jammu and Kashmir village in Pulwama district on Friday.

One SLR and one Pistol recovered from thw killed terrorists.

The information was posted on Udhampur headquartered Northern Command’s website. “Two terrorists killed in joint operation in Drabgam,” it said.

Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the special operations group (SOG) of state police surrounded the village late on Thursday after receiving information about the hiding terrorists.

Floodlights were put up around the cordoned off area to prevent the terrorists from escaping under the cover of darkness.

As the security forces closed on the hiding militants they were fired upon triggering the encounter.

“The slain terrorists belong to , but their exact identity is yet to be ascertained. Search operation are underway,” news agency IANS quoted the police offiial as saying.

Meanwhile, the mobile Internet facility has been suspended in Pulwama and Shopian districts.
