NEW DELHI, 20 September: If something wrong happens everyone start blaming the government and accusing the system but when the time comes to do their bit everyone back steps from the situation.
Again in a horrifying case held in the national Capital’s Burari area where a 21-year-old woman was stabbed over 22 times by an alleged stalker and shockingly that is in the full public view but nobody showed the strength to save a life. There were 22 stab wounds found on her body.
The deceased Karuna was working as a teacher and had been harassed and followed for over a year by 34-year-old Surender, the police said.
“The woman was stabbed publicly in Burari area at 9 a.m. by the accused, named Surender Singh, 34, who was known to her. No one came to her rescue,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Madhur Verma told reporters.
“He was later chased by the public and beaten up and handed over to police,” the officer added.
Her family had complained to the police around five months ago. The police said both families had “reached a compromise” so no action was taken.
Police also informed that Surender’s owns a shop and his divorce case is still on.
