A Jet Airways crew member was arrested at the Bombay Airport trying to smuggle fake currency of Rs 2.6 crore as he was parting for Bangkok. There has been many such incidents in the past when Jet Airways crew members were involved in smuggling. Jet Airways said that they have taken action against the miscreant. An official at the airlines was quoted, “We take all necessary disciplinary action in accordance with company policy and procedures.”Till September 2015, 20 such cases were reported. Most of them included the the members who were in gold smuggling.  Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) of airport customs on held members in connection with smuggling of gold more than Rs 28 lakh. Jet Airways have always been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons from bomb scare to low customer service.

Over 250 passengers of a Jet Airways Toronto-bound flight via its European gateway Brussels were stranded for about nine hours at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday due to “non-availability” of a reserve pilot, PTI reported. While the flight 9W-230 was scheduled to take off for Brussels at 3 AM it took off only around 12 noon after they managed to get a third pilot.
