Jayalalithaa’s death to be probed by Judicial Commission : TN CM


New Delhi, Aug 17: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami on Thursday announced that the Judicial Commission will investigate former CM and AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa’s death.

Speaking to media, Palaniswami stated that people are still in doubts regarding the death of  the former Chief Minister’s death , so to end all the confusions we have decided to start an enquiry committee on the demise of Jayalalithaa under a judge.

After the death of AIADMK supremo Tamil Nadu witnessed major political fiasco as O. Panneerselvam was forced to quit by VK Sasikala, who was Ms Jayalalithaa’s closest aide.

Later Sasikala sworned in as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

When Sasikala found convicted in disproportionate assets case, before going to jail she named EPS the new Chief Minister and her nephew, TTV Dhinakaran as the deputy general secretary of AIADMK party.

Ms Sasikala in February decided she should become Chief Minister herself. But her plans collapsed when she was convicted by the Supreme Court for corruption and sentenced to jail for four years.

Before going to jail, she named EPS the new Chief Minister and her nephew, TTV Dhinakaran, the No 2 of the party.

The committee is anticipated to submit a report soon. Palaniswami also said that former CM’s  Poes Garden residence will be turned into Jayalalitha memorial.
