Janmashtami 2018: Here’s how Bollywood celebrates Lord Krishna’s birthday

Mumbai, Sep 3: Krishna Janmashtami also known as Janmashtami or Gokulashtami, is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. 

On Janmashtami, devotees across the globe observe fast and decorate Krishna idols with fancy clothes and beautiful ornaments.

While the festival was celebrated on September 2 in some parts of the nation, other regions are observing it today (September 3).


Temples are adorned with flowers and echoed by the melodious chants of Krishna bhajans and songs.

As the nation is celebrating the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, Bollywood celebrities like megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty Kundra on Monday sent out wishes to their social media followers.
