J&K: Two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists killed in Anantnag encounter

Srinagar, April 25: Two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday.

The slain terrorists were identified as Safder Amin Bhat and Burhan Ahmad Ganie.

Bhat, a Class 9 passout, joined Hizbul Mujahideen in May 2017. Ganie, also know as Saifullah was pursuing Bachelor of Physiotherapy and had been a member of the terror outfit since June 2018.

One AK rifle and one Self-Loading Rifle (SLR) were recovered from the site. Police have registered a case in the matter.

Following specific information about the terrorist presence, the security forces late on Wednesday surrounded Bagender Mohalla of Bijbehara town.

At day break, the terrorists were challenged and they fired back triggering the encounter.

Searches are underway in the area and mobile Internet services have been suspended in the district as a precautionary measure.
