Srinagar, July 6: A Jammu and Kashmir police constable, who was abducted by militants, found dead on Friday in Kulgam’s Pariwan.
Javaid Ahmad Dar was kidnapped on Thursday evening from his home in Shopian district’s Vehil village.
This comes days after Aurangzeb, a rifleman of 44 Rashtriya Rifles who was posted in Shopian, was abducted Pulwama by terrorists and later his bullet-ridden body was recovered on June 14.
The soldier was on way to join his family on the occasion of Eid when the militants intercepted the vehicle in which Aurangzeb was travelling to Shopian, from where he would take another vehicle for Poonch.
A video released by the militant group that kidnapped Aurangzeb showed him bravely acknowledging that he was a soldier of the Indian Army and had participated in anti-militancy operations in the valley.
Last year in May, a young, unarmed army officer was kidnapped by militants while he was attending a family wedding. His bullet-ridden body was found the next day.
Ummer Fayaz, 22, was a Lieutenant of the Rajputana Rifles.
