Jammu and Kashmir : Army officer who tied youth to jeep gets clean chit

Srinagar, May 15 : An Army court gave clean chit to the army officer who tied a youth to moving jeep in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam on April 9 to “avoid” stone pelting on security forces.

Army officals said , Major Nitin Gogol has been praised by the Court of Inquiry for “presence of mind to avoid casualties or injuries”.

Last month , a video of kashmiri youth tied in the front of army jeep as ” Human Shield “ went viral which was highly condemned by people across the country , including Jammu Kashmir’s former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Following this police registered an FIR , after that the army had ordered a probe by the Army Court of Inquiry (COI).
