Jaipur: Sanjay Leela Bhansali manhandled by protesters on Padmavati sets

Jaipur, Jan 27, 2017: Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali was manhandled and the sets of his film “Padmavati” in Jaipur’s Mehrangarh Fort were vandalized by Rajput Karni Sena protesters who alleged that the film shows a much-celebrated Rajput queen in poor light.

Bhansali is slapped, beaten and his hair is pulled by protesters, who stormed the shoot at Fort.

They shouted protests and alleged that the film has love scenes between Queen Padmini and ruler Alauddin Khilji, played by actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.

Karni Sena is the same group who protested against Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodhaa Akbar saying that Jodhaa was married to Akbar’s son and not Akbar.
