ISIS Chief Baghdadi May Have killed in airstrike, Claims Russian Military


June 16, Friday: Defence Ministry of Russia today claimed that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi might have killed in a Russian air strike near the Syrian city of Raqqa.

The Russian forces launched an air strike in May when they came to know about the that ISIS leaders are planning to hold a meeting in Syria from intelligence sources.

RIA news agency quoted “According to the information which is now being checked via various channels, Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who was eliminated by the air strike, was also present at the meeting,” Russian Ministry stated in a statement.

The-46-year-old Baghdadi, broke away from al Qaeda after the caputre and killing of Osama bin Laden.
Although It is not clear whether the Russian military knew in advance that Mr Baghdadi was at the gathering, or learned of this possibility only after the strike.
