Yogeshwar Dutt who won bronze in London 2012 Olympics which was upgraded to Silver but denied by the athlete , now a new news comes in a row that might be the bronze medal of Yogeshwar Dutt upgraded to gold.
If Yogeshwar Dutt bronze medal upgraded to gold then the wrestler will become the India’s second individual Olympic gold medallist. The new dope test has now open doors for the athlete.
According to reports on Friday advice that that Toghrul Asgarov, who was the gold medallist from London in 60kg category, has also been tested positive.
Meanwhile, the news is not yet confirmed as there is no confirmation yet of the alleged positive dope test, with the Wrestling Federation of India and the world governing body United World Wrestling also not fully aware of the situation.
However, If gold medallist Asgarov dope test confirmed to be positive, then the decision will be clear and Yogeshwar will be handed a gold medal. If this becomes the reality then Yogeshwar will join Abhinav Bindra as only India’s second individual gold medallist. Earlier, Yogeshwar was upgraded to Silver, after Russian athlete tested positive when samples from the 2012 London Olympics were retested.
If Yogeshwar Dutt gets the gold then this will be the first time that such a situation will be happened. There is also the small matter of ensuring Yogeshwar and Scott also prove to be clean when their samples are also retested
