INX Media case: CBI seeks time to file reply on Bhaskararaman’s bail plea


New Delhi, March 19: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday sought time to file a reply in a Delhi Court on the anticipatory bail plea of Karti Chidambaram’s charted accountant S. Bhaskararaman, over INX media case.

The Patiala House Court fixed March 26 for the next hearing.

On March 9, the Court extended the judicial custody of Bhaskararaman by 14 days in the matter.

Bhaskararaman, on February 28, had filed a bail plea in a Delhi court.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had nabbed him in Delhi on February 16.

In May 2017, ED had lodged a money laundering case against Karti for his role in facilitating FIPB clearance for INX Media Ltd and its directors, Peter and Indrani Mukerjea – both accused in the murder of Sheena Bora -and others.

Karti was held by the CBI at Chennai airport on February 28.
