Institutional undermining of RBI is betrayal to Sardar Patel’s legacy: Ahmed Patel

New Delhi, Oct 31: Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel on Wednesday took a jibe at the Narendra Modi government saying that Sardar Patel’s legacy draws from his “remarkable ability to strengthen institutions”. 

“Sardar Patel’s legacy draws from his remarkable ability to strengthen institutions. Today, an institutional undermining of RBI is a betrayal to his legacy. Institutions successive governments helped build over the last 70 yrs are being systematically dismantled in just 5 yrs”, he stated.

The Congress leader paid tribute to Sardar Patel, saying he will remain our inspiration.

“He exhibited strength as well as empathy He unified the nation through persuasion rather than coercion. He was a champion of masses, leader of farmers and patron of good governance. He was a true Congressman. My homage on his jayanti”, Ahmed Patel tweeted.

The Iron Man of India, Sardar Patel was born to Ladba and Jhaverbhai Patel in Gujarat’s Nadiad on October 31, 1875.

He was the first Deputy Prime Minister and the Home Minister of the country. He is also popularly known as the Iron Man of India.

Patel is also popularly known as the Iron Man of India.
