Indo-Pak Tension: Pakistani troopers start heavy shelling in Jammu

Pakistan initiated a heavy shelling on Saturday attacking the Border Security Force (BSF) posts and civilians on the International Border (IB) in Hiranagar sector and R.S.Pura in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Around 6 a.m., the Pakistan Rangers resorted to heavy mortar shelling and automatic gunfire. The SF has started retaliating effectively,” the police informed.

The information added, “Shelling and firing exchanges are still going on in both these sectors.”

Earlier on Friday, India and Pakistan got into a cross-fire and heavy shelling took place in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts on the Line of Control (LoC) in Mendhar and Machil sectors.

The soldier was killed in Machil sector where the Indian Army countered an infiltration effort made by the militants. A militant was also killed during the same.

The Army informed that the militants mangled the body of the soldier and withdraw the soldier’s body the Pakistan side of LoC.
