India’s domestic passenger traffic climbs over 20% in Oct: IATA

New Delhi, Dec 4: India’s domestic passenger traffic scaled up by 20.4 per cent in October, a international airline association said on Monday.

As per the International Air Transport Association (IATA), India’s domestic demand — revenue passenger kilometres (RPK) — was highest amongst key aviation markets like Australia, Brazil, China, Japan, Russia and the US, news agency IANS reported.

The IATA data revealed that India’s domestic RPK — which records actual passenger traffic — increased by more than 20 per cent in October against the corresponding month of the previous year.

India’s domestic passenger traffic growth was followed by that of China at 10 per cent, while Brazil at 7.7 per cent.
