Indian Army rescues American citizen who got stuck while paragliding


Palampur, Oct 26: The Indian army rescued an American citizen identified as Barry Roberts, who got badly injured during paragliding in Himachal Pradesh.

While paragliding, Barry got stuck on a rock at a height of about 15,000 feet from the ground level in Baijnath area of Kangra district.

International Emergency Response Coordination Center reached the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) for SOS rescue and later informed the Deputy Commissioner.

As it was unable to rescue him by foot thus, an Indian Army helicopter was pressed into the area to find him.

The paraglider was later shifted to Delhi.

Earlier, seven people including four members of a Delhi family were killed in cable car accident in Gulmarg.
