Indian Air Force puts defence systems on high alert


New Delhi, Feb 26: Hours after India reportedly destroyed terrorist camps across the Line of Control, the Indian Air Force on Tuesday put on high alert all air defence systems along the international border to respond to any possible action by Pakistan Air Force.

The IAF bases along the borders and inside are fully geared to deal with any eventuality. Air defence systems were activated to deal with any intruders along the International Border and the LoC, news agency IANS reported citing sources.

The airborne radars were keeping eye on the activities inside Pakistan, the sources added.

Tuesday’s development follows a attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, on February 14 in which 40 troopers had lost thier lives.

Pakistan-based militant group, Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) claimed the responsiblity of the attack.
