India, Sri Lanka ink MoU on cooperation in economic projects


New Delhi, April 26, 2017: India and Sri Lanka today inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in economic projects following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his visiting Sri Lankan counterpart Ranil Wickremesinghe here.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Gopal Baglay tweeted:

In a separate tweet, Modi said that he held “comprehensive talks” with Wickremesinghe “on ways to strengthen India-Sri Lanka ties for the benefit of our citizens”.

Earlier in the day, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj called on the visiting dignitary.

Wickremesinghe arrived here on Tuesday on a five-day visit to India.
