India, Pak NSAs talked to reduce tension along LoC: Aziz

New Delhi, Oct 3, 2016: Foreign Affairs Advisor to Pakistan Prime Minister Sartaj Aziz affirmed that National Security Advisor of both the countries made contact after India conducted surgical strike across the LoC.

According to Pakistani website, Sartaj Aziz confirmed that a contact was established between National Security Advisors of India and Pakistan and both the countries agreed to reduce tension on LoC.

“Sartaj Aziz said that Lieutenant General (retd) Nasir Khan Janjua and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval made contact with each other after the surgical strike and agreed to reduce military aggression going on LoC. He said that India wants to divert world’s attention from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) by escalating tensions,” said the media.

During the conversation, Aziz also said Pakistan conveyed India that it wanted to reduce tension on Line of Control.

Meanwhile, on Monday Pakistani rangers yet again violated ceasefire in Gurdaspur district of Punjab and in Shahpur sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch.
